Italy to be Discovered!

Fellow readers! I know a few of you are dying to know what happened on my trip to Italy or my new journey so far. There are lots to read so take your time and enjoy the pictures, stories, and stop and laugh at me. It’s part of the experience. I’ll try to make it as entertaining as possible. I know reading someone else life can be boring, but I want to share my life with you as life is for living and I want to live my life to the fullest as possible and share it with you.

I left Vancouver on the 14^th of September and traveled across the world to Germany. I stayed with Jan for 5 days before heading to meet up with a fellow collogue, Tanya. I was in Italy for 14 days

This is a University that we visited. There are more University pictures!!!WHY! Because this is our source of WC!!! Bathrooms. I sure held it so many times before finding a school. Gotta find some way to save up. Don't want to pay to go pee. It will add up. hahaha.

 Opps, forgot the Colosseum picture. Perhaps my next post. This is near the Colosseum. We sight saw Rome in one day. I missed a few things and didn't go into, or pay to go into and thing. Just pictures. Too many people, too over priced, and to touristy. We are here for an adventure!!!

 But this was quite an adventure. Remember my gladiator story!!! Well, here are the gladiators who too my 10 Euros. Booo.

Finally finished the ROME blog. Been distracted. I gotta go make lunch and meet Jan in Tubingen. Hope everyone had a great turkey dinner or time with family.

Opps....one more. I didn't see this picture being posted. Here is the end. A picture of the men posing, letting us know how aroused they got from taking our photos. These Gladiators are weird. They are just out to get your money. What out ladies. Gladiators in Rome aren't that fun.

1st Run, what a lot of apples!!!! YUM!!

Whew,
What a challenge. When you haven't ran in years and you think you can run for an hour!!! Think again. We cut it down to half an hour. Jan thinks I'm crazy running for an hour. Jan and I ran today and I sure was huffing and puffing. But the scene was amazing. We ran though the fields and into the orchard area. There were so many apple trees and plum trees that I wanted to stop running and pick them. But that means I'm stealing, says Jan. I guess I'm not a stealer, although, Tanya and I picked a lot of fruit in Italy and there are always so many that they just fall to the ground anyway. So why not pick some!!!

I was a good girl and kept on running. I wanted to see how Jan did, but clearly, I'm out of shape. He ran a few weeks ago, so he is in better shape than I am. My goal is to run a bit everyday as long as the weather holds up. Tee sun was blazing hot today in the afternoon and freezing this morning. I wore my winter Jacket and was still cold as I wasn't really wearing warm pants. I can't believe how hot it can be in the afternoon and freezing cold before and after. I guess fall is almost over and winter is coming.

Well, It's Thanksgiving over in Canada. I hope everyone got lots of turkey and spent time with family and being thankful of what you have.
My thankfulness...
Congrats to Joyce Lo and Joe Kwan! They tied the knot today. I wasn't able to make it, but best wishes to you both. Please spend pictures so that I can see and be part of your special day.
My family: Miss you lots. Miss the Chinese food. Don't miss Keo barking!!! hahaha. But I'm sure he misses me, but not when there is turkey for him!!! Oh man, I get to miss the Turkey Congee. I guess i'll have to make some myself....where is my 1000 year old egg???
My grandpa: It's been 1 year since you past away and have gone to a better place. Thank you for your love and your ambition to come all the way to Canada. You have provided the generation and the next to be living in a successful, fun, free, healthy, and wild life. Bless you, miss you.

My Jan. I met Jan on June 21 at Greystone College. I am now living with him and beginning a new journey with him. He has changed my life and is willing to live with me to live life to the fullest and in laughter. He is a great listener, caregiver, and lover. I'm thankful for him to be in my life.



It's great to think about what I am thankful for. I guess not being able to celebrate it with family and friends makes me think that life is too short. You never know when you will have time to spend it with family and friends and it is important to me to be with the people I love. At this time in my life, I'm learning to love myself, so i'm taking the time away from family and friends to do that. My life now is in Germany and to experience it full of laughter. I will keep you posted on what my laughter's are.

1st laughter!!! Eating tortilla chips, cheese and apples for dinner!!!! HAHAHAHA.  Don't worry. we are eating. We had a big lunch....they have dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner. I don't know if I can get use to that. hahaha.

Farmer's Market In Germany

My 1st Farmer's Experience in Germany. They have so much stuff, but it is a special market where they close the streets and have a lot of vendors from the area. I had a great time looking at all the different booths. They sold many things from veggies, cakes, bread, olives, wine, knitted products, cheese, salami, & more.

  I was amazed at all the different vendors. It was neat to compare our farmer's market to Germany's farmers market. Although this is a special one, they are still both different in many ways, but also similar. For those who know I love farmer's Market, the best of Germany's farmers market is the food. I wish I can try all the different foods, but it will cost a lot of money, and a big belly after. hehehe. But I did try one thing that was unique. It is the apple waffle. This is neat because there is a apple theme this week. I've see so many apples because everyone is harvesting their apples. I'm going to make a apple crisp tomorrow with all the apples we bought. Yum. I can't wait.

Adding pictures is difficult. I hope all these pictures turn out. I really like the pumkins in this picture. This is a different squash that they also decorate. Germany's Thanksgiving was last week. Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are in Canada. I didn't get turkey this year, but I go more. I had duck with Jan's parents last night, I had salmon tonight, and we'll have more fish tomorrow before we head back to Kiebingen. 

Exterior Design!!!

So, besides many food at the market, there is always an area for children!! Even big children!! hahaha There was a carrsol, bungee trampoline jumpping and a lot more games for kids. Even cotton candy and lots of other treats and toys for kids to buy. But I was too excited about the food and animals. Goats, chickens and goose.

Tower of Apples: What an apple can do for you!

Apples are cheap now. They are being harvested by everyone. Did I already mention that. I think so. So they had this apple tower with words....basically tell you why you should have an apple every day. Most of the saying is "have an apple a day, keeps the doctor away." I have yet to get sick, although, i have had a sore throat...but I think it is due to all the drinking i've been doing i the last week. What an alcoholic I am!!! Do I need to go to AA!!! I hope not!!! HAHAHA. JK.

Back to Kiebingen tomorrow. 2 hour drive home....only been there for one night, so i feel like i'm still traveling. I finally did laundry at Jan's parents house. It's like I moved out and went home to do laundry.
Living in another country isn't really different. Just different food and language. I guess that could be enough to be in a different place. :)

Alright, let see what other pictures I should put up. It takes a while to blog with photos. So much to say, but I guess I do have time. More time later when I'm finally home and able to relax. Just so much to do when you need to spend time with your boyfriend and his parents. Its great being here in Germany in a totally new lifestyle. I'm having a lot of fun and learning a lot. That's what's best about life isn't it!!! Learning something new!!! One part of laughter, live the life you dreamed of!

Sore Butt, 20 towns & 70km Later

After being back in Germany, Jan and I went to visit his parents for the weekend. Its like his parents are in Courtenay and we are living in Victoria. We surprised his parents since Jan didnt have anything on Friday. So on Friday, we went for a bike tour. I thought we were just going for an hour or so. Instead, it was an hour train ride, and 7 hours later. It was a trek.
It was mostly down hill, but there were a few up hills. My legs are so sore today from all that biking and my butt is so sore from sitting on a bike.

It was getting late and his parents are waiting for us for dinner. We didnt get back home until 7ish. We tried to get on a train earlier so that we wouldnt be riding in the dark. Instead, there was a problem on the track so we rode a bit further. On our last leg, we stopped at a apple juice factory. Many people are making juice now and harvesting their apples. There are so many fruit trees everywhere. So many apple treats everywhere. Yum!!

1st night back in Germany

Home cooked meal taste so good after all the crackers, cheese, ham, pastries, pizza, gelato, and Nutella of all sorts. Pics to come. Jan made rice! Chinese! Whoohoo. Yum, with chicken on top and a tomato salad. I think i now love tomatos...balsamic and olive oil with some other seasoning. This might be a German salad. This is what will be eaten everyday.

It sure is great to sleep in a bed that does not squeek. I totally forgot how bunkbeds were while staying in hostels. Some were okay, but some were terrible. So it is good to be back in one place and ready to live the German lifestyle. Gotta remember that nothing opens on Sunday. Family time!! hahahaa.

In Tubingen

My fellow followers,
Im back in Germany, stayed in our new place in Kiebingen, one train stop from Tubingen. Jan is in class and I got some internet time to start looking for work. Im not able to post pics yet, perhaps over the weekend. I will be heading back to Otterswier, Jans parents place, for the weekend.

When I left Munich, it was late and I was worried about connecting trains in Stuttgart. I got there on time to connect, but I might have gone on a different train. When Jan called me, where are you, i told him i was still on the train. He told me that I might be on the wrong one. Why havent I arrived yet!! I paniced. What do I do? I speak NO GERMAN!!! AHAHAH. So I asked an old lady. Luckily, she understood what I was wanting to know and she said I had 2 more stops. Whew! I got scared for a second, not knowing where I am going in Germany. It will be hard for Jan to find me...or not!

Back In Germany

Guten Morgen. I'm now back in Germany, partying it up with Gordon Chow!!! My volleyball partner....same last name but not related. hahaha. We had a blast at Oktober Fest. I can't believe I made it. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go. We got some dates mixed up and I caught the last day. It was celebrating its 200 birthday so they were open on the Monday when I arrived. They usually finish on the Sunday. Lucky me. We had dinner there and played a few carnival games. Pictures to come.

I also got to meet up with Virginia and her boyfriend. She is staying in Munich for a couple of months. I'm sure we will get to hang out again.


So back in Germany is like starting all over again. New language, new food, new people. I was just getting use to the Italian culture, although, I'm glad to be back in Germany as Italian men are all over travelling women...or asian women for that matter. hahhaa. Stories to be told there.

Anyhow, I'm on may way out to site see a bit more of Munich and then off to Tubingen to meet up with Jan. He has been waiting patiently for me so it is time to be back with him.

Start keeping up with the reading!!! Lots of posts to come as I go through pictures and stories of my trip and how life has been a laughter....as well as many frustrations as well.
