"It is one of the oldest buildings in the city, built between 1059 and 1128. The architecture is in Florentine Romanesque style." It was so beautiful that we stood there for quite a while, taking pictures, mouth wide open in AW, and wondered how long it took to build and developed all the detail. You have to be there to believe it yourself. The sun was setting and it was beautiful and it grazed the top of the building.
Also in this beautiful town, there is the famous "David" statue.
""David" is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501 and 1504, by the Italian artist Michelangelo. It is a 5.17 metre (17 feet)[1] marble statue of a standing male nude. The statue represents the Biblical hero David, a favoured subject in the art of Florence."
There is a statue of Michelangelo I believe but we ran out of time to see that statue. Everyday we try to go see it, as well as the beautiful sunset, but time didn't allow us to as there were many other things to do and see in the city. I will be back to Florence one day.
Alright, back to Florence. So here I am, late at night, waiting to have sweets. There are so many to choose from, which one should I eat? I couldn't pick one so I didn't pick one at all. Instead, I waited til our last day and we had various treats.
On the right is the famous “schiacciata con l”uva”. It's only made during the summer when it's grape harvest seasons. YUM. So much food, so small stomach. What is next?
So here is another school. Another pit stop to the bathroom. But this was a bit more challenging to find. There were many floors to explore where the actually "WC" is. We finally found one, went and then a lady asked if we needed help. Glad to be out of there, just in case they didn't want us there. HEHEHE, just going to the bathroom!
Locks, locks and more locks. On the 1st night in Rome, I couldn't find my lock. I wish I saw this earlier so that I can use it for my stuff. hahaha. But it was neat. Everyone was taking pictures of this just like if you went to a place where there were lots of shoes hanging, or bills from all over the world, or postcards from all over the world. I was at a club with Jan on Friday and there were bras hanging everywhere. A picture will come. You gotta see this.
Last but not least, a photo to remind everyone where I was. A beautiful town of Florence. How could you not resist to visit. It's beautiful.
My very own Postcard!
What's next? Perhaps my wine tour, or Naples??? Hummm. I'll see how I feel after lunch what I want to write. So much to say, lots of time to past by.
