Hi Readers. I apologies for not writing. I've been quite busy over the holidays and haven't had the time to sit and think about what to write. Or...just in a bit lazy during the holiday time. Spending it with my family that I have here in Germany. Or....I just been feeling out of it....not doing a lot of laughter....just living it up. hahhaaa. Well, I'm back, it's a new year, and I hope that I can share more of my thoughts. Yes, you can say I have been in hibernation. I haven't been true to myself and doing things that I should be doing. Lots of procrastination. You know how it is.
None the less, I do think of you all. I take lots of pictures just for you. I just haven't had the time to upload them as it takes for ever. Then i just get lazy cause I do other fun things and forget to post my thoughts.
So, I hope you will get a chance to read up on my trip to Vienna, my Christmas market experience, my Choir Experience, my glasses dilemma, and watching 5 seasons of "One Tree Hill" in 3 weeks. YIKES!!! I did that over the holidays? I was sure a hermit over the holidays this year.....but there is a good reason. I'll tell more later.
But 1st, some of my creations during my stay in Germany so far. I have lots of time to cook and make delisious things. Next up on my list are Chocolate cake, Nian Gao, Law Pak Ko, and much more for the Chinese New Year. I hope i'm not celebrating it myself. :) Actually, I won't. I'll have JAN. :)
Alrighty - Step 1 to my so called Leek Quiche. The crust. There wasn't much crust to this crust. Kind of sad looking.
Here is the mix that goes into the bowl. It's been a long time since I made this. Jan doesn't like Leek so I had most of it. YUM! Leek, shrimp, onions, eggs, and what else can you see?
Oh whopps, this is the one with the eggs. hahaha
Oh look, the almost finished product. Right before it goes into the oven. I didn't have goat cheese so I used brie. I believe that orange cheese was Gouda cheese. Germany doesn't have orange cheddar cheese.
I know this picture is on its side. As you can see, it's the finished product. It was good. We had it for 2 days. Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. YUM!!! JK.
This is one of my apple cakes. It turned out okay. It was an experiment. We have so many apples that I don't know what to do with them. I don't want them to rot, but they seem like they are already rotting. As long as it stays in a dark and cool place, they will be good til the spring. Well, I sure haven't had apples that last all fall and winter. Have you???
One of our freshly made bread. One of our better ones. Every time we make bread it comes out differently. hehhee.
Oh, what is this? On it's side......right, homemade apple sauce. Who knew that it was so easy to make. No sugar is needed at all. All you got to do is boil the apples and there you have it. APPLE SAUCE!
This was another apple cake or apple bread as it doesn't look like just a loaf of bread. It was taken a while back. I would have to look up my recipes to see what I actual made. I made so many cookies as well that I don't remember what I have made. I make new dishes all the time. I even wonder what I'll be doing today. :) hehehe.
Oh, this is a good one. Germans like Roulette. I learned how to make it....which is really easy and i made one for dinner one day. Cooked potatoes on the bottom, a layer of Roulette cheese, then another layer of potatoes and on top, i added ham and mushrooms I think and added more cheese. In the oven it does until the cheese is all melted. Now how easy was that!
This is one of my favorite. Cranberry bread. YUM!!!!
Jan and I had company over one day and I made Chinese....well, Cantonese food!!! HAHAHA. Here is my Chow mien dish.
My Teriyaki Chicken with beans.
My Curry Chicken.
It was a yummy feast. I should do it again.
Spinach Quiche.....tooo spinachy. But good. The crust was better than my Leek Quiche crust. This was more solid and held it's place.
